Northern Virginia Artists League

We had a great meeting tonight as you can see by the pictures.  The paintout was left up in the air, but leaning towards somewhere in Maryland on July19th for those who can make it.  Some of the group will paint and some will go on a photo Safari.  More to follow…

While we were participating in our monthly plein air outing (painting outside, together, and then having lunch and a critique) a reporter from the Middleburg Life stopped by and took a few photos.  We’ll have to keep a lookout for the article when it is published.

Saturday we (NOVAL) went as a group to Middleburg Virginia and painted some very nice historic buildings in the heart of the Loudoun County horse country.  Afterwards we ate a wonderful lunch in the Mellow-Out, a local eatery.  I have over 400 reference photos that Gina shot and I will put the best 50-100 up in the gallery for free use.  Middleburg is a very picturesque southern town.  We all enjoyed the painting, fresh air and company immensely.
