Lorrie has taken several watercolor classes with Louis Negri, who brought her work to a more competitive level and workshops with Skip Lawrence and internationally acclaimed artist Alvaro Castagnet.

She has a Bachelors degree in advertising design and a minor in art history from the University of Maryland, which has given her the foundation for her 18 plus years as a graphic designer and artist.

Currently she is the president of the Northern Virginia Artists League. She attends monthly plein air paint outings with the NOVAL group and coordinates most of their exhibits and sales events. She also designed, maintains and produces this web site.

Nature is her subject of choice, mostly landscapes. Plein air painting allows her the time to relax and create spontaneously. She loves the process and challenge of watercolor painting. She has a loose representational style and looks forward to experimenting with more contemporary work. She's also having fun painting "the light" in her more recent work.
